As we close in on the end of 2020, it’s time to start looking ahead to the light at the end of the tunnel in 2021. Or at least, that’s the plan for now. While we’re not out of the woods yet, we can look forward to huge steps in that direction. We can anticipate in-person activities starting to make a comeback, slowly but surely. With that in mind, save these fun 2021 Illinois cannabis expos now.
What kinds of weed events and such can we expect to see?
As you well know by now, we were supposed to see this all happen in 2020, and it didn’t, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its affect on the cannabis industry. So all of the awesome festivals, trade shows, conventions, etc., that we were supposed to see? They all went online. Obviously, it was making the best of a horrid situation, but just not the same. When you remember that 2020 was the debut of legal pot in Illinois, it was that much more frustrating.
But now with vaccines on the horizon, we can bet on life getting back to normal at some point. Mark your calendars for the below. Even though the dates may get pushed back a bit, depending on how fully reopening Illinois shakes out, these events will happen. Also note – while many of these events are geared towards cannabis industry professionals, they’re also fun for consumers to attend. Weed enthusiasts can go to check out new and emerging products, trends, and simply learn more about what’s out there.
1. CannaCon Chicago
The CannaCon Cannabis Expo on February 12-13, 2021 in Rosemont, provides the opportunity for weed entrepreneurs, farmers, distributors, equipment specialists and consumers to meet. Attendees can attend seminars, networking events, and learn about cutting edge trends. While it’s not cheap for exhibitors to get a booth and showcase their products, individual consumers can attend for as little as $40 per day.
2. Waldos Forever
Familiar with 4:20? If so, you know that Waldos Forever is the Chicago cannabis street festival that takes place on and around April 20th. While the 2021 date has not yet been posted or confirmed, we can bet that the organizers will try for 4/20, if at all possible. The fest takes place right outside Chicago’s Dispensary33, providing a full day of music, education and fun for cannabis lovers. And while there’s no cost for you to get in, there is a suggested donation of $10 per person. But as you well know, it all goes to a good cause.
3. Cannabis Drinks Expo
If you like weed beverages, check this out. The Cannabis Drinks Expo on August 3, 2021, in Northlake, claims it is the biggest global gathering of cannabis drinks professionals ever. We can’t confirm that, but regardless, the event is all about those in the pot drink world. The event brings together drinks producers, manufacturers, brand owners, distilleries and brewers all in one place for a one-day expo. The best part: if you’re a consumer, simply going to the show to see what’s out there, you can go to the expo for free.
So what do we do till then?
