Hey all, are you like us? Do you like B&Bs? Sometimes when you don’t have time for a full vaca, it’s awesome to check out for a few days in a chill B&B not too far from home. Not only that, but if you can figure out a way to combine that with cannabis, even better. So now you’re in luck. Options to combine the two are coming up more and more these days. With the world as crazy as it is currently, you’re probably up for a break sooner rather than later. So, are you ready for this weed friendly Illinois B&B now?
So where and what is it?
Are you into Galena, in the northwest corner of the state? You know, the small, vineyard filled small town filled with historic sites by the Mississippi River? Yep, that one. Believe it or not, it’s also home to Illinois’s first and only cannabis friendly bed and breakfast.
Yes, Aldrich Guest House, an established B&B in Galena, takes this title. It’s an actual bed and breakfast, as opposed to an AirBNB rental. According to their site, the owners have 50 years of experience in the hospitality and service industry, which has enabled them to make Aldrich Guest House a great place for their guests.
In addition to the top quality rooms you would expect to find at a great B&B, you also get breakfast that won runner up in a national competition, evening drinks, as well as non-alcoholic beverages and cookies 24/7.
Ok, great, but what about being weed friendly?
But that’s not why you’re here. So check it out, cannabis enthusiasts – the owners have built a “Potting Shed” for weed lovers, which is separate from the main house. It’s basically a tiny house with furniture, TV, heat/AC, and a snack bar. The main point of the shed is so that marijuana users can have dedicated space to partake and enjoy, while the other guests can stay separate from that, if they want. So everybody wins.
And to clarify, since smoking inside is prohibited, according to Illinois state law, you can smoke outside of the Potting Shed, then hang out inside. Additionally, the shed is for guests of the B&B only.
