So, you think COVID-19 has completely shut everything down, everywhere, till further notice in Illinois? Think again. As the state starts to open back up, cannabis is no exception. Here’s the latest cannabis dispensaries to open in Illinois:

What are the new Illinois cannabis stores?

As of this last week of May, 2020, here’s the following new dispensaries:

1. Rise Niles

Rise Niles is Green Thumb Industries’s eighth store in Illinois and 45th in the nation. Opening on May 28, Rise Niles is the third adult-use only store that Green Thumb has opened in Illinois in 2020. They have opened a total of six stores, across the country, as of this writing.

Green Thumb’s locations in Illinois include the following: Rise Canton, Rise Effingham, Rise Joliet, Rise Mundelein, Rise Quincy, 3C Joliet and 3C Naperville.  All but 3C Naperville offer adult-use sales.

Rise Niles will currently offer online pre-ordering for adults 21 and older. Orders may be made online. Rise Niles is located at 9621 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Niles, open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

2. Sunnyside Danville

The City of Danville has another cannabis dispensary. Sunnyside, which is the retail cannabis dispensary chain owned by Cresco Labs, opened up Sunnyside Danville on May 27th. This is the company’s sixth store in Illinois, and the first in the eastern part of the state.

The Sunnyside dispensary in Danville is located at 369 Lynch Drive, located near the Indiana border in eastern Illinois. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week starting May 27. For the remainder of the COVID-19 pandemic, the store will operate with online orders only and in-store pickup.

3. Sunnyside River North

But that’s not all for Sunnyside. The dispensary chain has the distinction of opening downtown Chicago’s first pot shop on May 28th. Located at 436 N. Clark St., this location is the first in the city to exclusively sell recreational marijuana. Operating similarly to that of other locations, the store will only accept online orders. Customers will receive a text when they need to pick up their order. They will then be allowed to wait in a designated area to pick up their product.

Sunnyside’s other Illinois locations include Champaign, Chicago Lakeview, Elmwood Park, and Rockford. They also operate three cultivation centers.
